 Dear Taxpayers,
I ask for your support to move our municipal government towards effective fiscal management and renewed economic growth. We must be positive, forward thinking, and seek to provide efficient services at controlled costs.
The answer to cohesive management is through hard work, hard work on the part of Council, partnering with our employees and suppliers to achieve our goals. No magic wand will cure our ills, neither will sliding backwards into the past resolve our differences.
We will build an integrated community, vibrant in all corners of our large geographic area, the City of Kawartha Lakes. Together we will frame the future and leave the partisan past behind.
As Mayor, my priority will be to create and foster a climate of partnership within all regions of the City of Kawartha Lakes, with all employees and with all of you, the taxpayers.
The City of Kawartha Lakes is the future. Vote Macklem for Mayor, the first step towards a united and prosperous tomorrow.
